Despite the massive progress made for equality in the work place, many women and young girls from vulnerable backgrounds lack the confidence to go into male dominated working environments – plumbing, sales, DJing…
Jeena is running a woman only DJ project where women over the age 16 can learn mixing, beat matching and crowd pleasing through spinning the decks. Women can choose a one day taster workshop to get a feel for DJing, or enrol on a free 6 week course to become fully club proficient. Jeena will help the women get gigs either in clubs or at women only events such as hen parties and birthday parties. Once trained, and with a little bit of experience under the belt, Jeena will support the women participants with free help and advice in setting up as a mobile DJ, booking parties or playing club sets. With professional equipment for hire, including lighting rigs and a PA system, Jeena encourages vulnerable women to find confidence in their own style, follow their dreams and create new and exciting opportunities in their lives.
